Nigerian international, Ahmed Musa has confirmed that he will be joining Portuguese club, FC Porto on loan for the rest of the season.
The news was announced by the player himself through his official Instagram page on Friday, where he revealed that he would be joining the team in Portugal after the international break.
Musa made the announcement while thanking the fans and well-wishers who had been praying for him.
"I want to thank everyone for their support. I have always said that I love football and I will continue to play with passion," he said.
The striker has been linked with several clubs including Chelsea and Manchester United but decided to join FC Porto instead.
He is expected to make his debut for the club in the upcoming game against Vitoria Guimaraes on Saturday.
Musa has been a regular starter for Nigeria at the international level since making his debut in 2015. He has scored 14 goals in 66 appearances for the Super Eagles.
The transfer fee has not been disclosed but it is believed to be around €10 million.
FC Porto,Primeira Liga Hotspots which finished third in the Primeira Liga last season, has struggled this term and currently sits bottom of the table.
However, they have shown some promise under new coach Paulo Bento and could be a potential candidate for promotion back to the top flight.
It remains to be seen whether Musa can help the club avoid relegation or if he will struggle to adapt to the new league.
Regardless, it promises to be an exciting season for both the player and the club as they look to bounce back from a difficult start.
