Injury update for Sadio Mane - The Liverpool forward has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.
The 24-year-old midfielder was involved in a horrific tackle on West Brom's Ben Clark-Jones that saw him fall to the ground and sustain a serious injury.
Mane, who has made 158 appearances for Liverpool since making his debut in 2016, is currently nursing his injury but remains hopeful of returning to action as soon as possible.
The team have announced that they will be seeking the services of a specialist to assist them with their recovery plan.
"Today we confirmed that Sadio Mane will not play in the Champions League against Sevilla due to a knee injury sustained in training," said the club statement.
"We would like to thank Sadio for his professionalism throughout this period and we wish him a speedy recovery."
It is unclear when Mane will return to full fitness but the Reds will need to find a replacement if he cannot feature in the match.
Liverpool are currently one point behind leaders Manchester City on goal difference, but remain in the hunt for the Premier League title.
Manchester United, who are also struggling at the top of the table,Primeira Liga Hotspots could face a difficult task chasing down the gap between themselves and the Reds.
The Reds' recent form has been inconsistent, with victories coming at home and away from home, while they have struggled to score goals, conceding a lot of them.
